NFL Pro Bowler: Kris Jenkins, DE - Carolina Panthers

Jenkins, a native of Ypsilanti, MI, played college football at the University of Maryland. The Carolina Panthers drafted Kris with the 44th pick (2nd Round) of the 2001 NFL Draft. He was an integral member of Panthers defensive front that ranked second in the NFL among defensive lines with 32.5 sacks in 2003 and stands second in the League over the last two seasons with 71.5 sacks. He became first player in NFL history to block an extra point to send a game into overtime at Tampa Bay (9/14/03) in contest that Carolina eventually won, 12-9. He is the only player in Panthers history to record two combined blocked kicks in the same contest, blocking a field goal and an extra point at Tampa Bay (9/14/03). His two combined blocked kicks also stand as a team single-season record. He is tied with Michael Bates as Carolina's all-time leader with three combined blocked kicks.

He was selected as an alternate for the 2002 NFL Pro Bowl and selected as a starter in the 2003 Pro Bowl. He also played an instrumental role in the Panthers first Super Bowl appearance.
